The University of North Georgia announces degrees and certificates awarded for the fall 2017 semester, including hundreds awarded in commencement exercises held December 15 & 16 at the university.

University of North Georgia President Bonita Jacobs recognizes students who achieved a 4.0 grade point average during the fall 2017 semester. Students enrolled in 12 or more credit hours in bachelor's degree programs who achieved a 4.0 grade point average were named to the President's Honor Roll. Students enrolled in associate degree programs who met the same level of achievement were named to the President's List.

The deans of each of UNG's five colleges - the College of Arts & Letters, the College of Education, the College of Health Sciences & Professions, the Mike Cottrell College of Business, and the College of Science & Mathematics - announced the names of those students who made their respective lists for fall 2017. Dean's List recognition is achieved by having at least a 3.5 grade point average, carrying 12 or more credit hours in one semester and having no grade lower than B.

Wofford's Interim is a time for exploration and experiential learning away from the rigors of traditional academic courses for students and faculty alike. Students may choose from a variety of on-campus courses, professional internships and research projects, study abroad opportunities or their own independent study project, approved and guided by a faculty adviser. More than 200 students chose to study abroad during Interim 2018.

The following students completed courses with exemplary marks and made the Dean's List for the 2017 fall semester at Georgia College in Milledgeville, Ga.

Students in Kennesaw State's College of Computing and Software Engineering recently demonstrated their talent, creativity and ability to put what they've learned in the classroom into practice during the biannual Computing Showcase, also called C-Day. The culminating event, presented at the end of the fall semester, attracted dozens of student projects which were then judged by 18 industry professionals in five categories. Graduating students displayed their posters, video games and prototypes that highlighted their experiences within internships, team projects, research endeavors, and capstone and thesis work. More than 40 undergraduate and graduate students were honored with first, second and third place honors in five categories. To be eligible for the Dean's List during the summer semester, degree-seeking students with a minimum Georgia State cumulative GPA of 2.00 must earn a 3.50 GPA for the semester and complete at least 6 semester hours of academic credit with no incompletes.

To be eligible for the President's List during the summer semester, students must earn a 4.0 GPA for the semester and complete at least 6 semester hours of academic credit with no incompletes.

More than 900 students earned their bachelor's degrees from Georgia State University during the summer semester of 2017.

UNG seniors Melanie Mitchell and Michelle Vatral signed on to work with the Gainesville Housing Authority (GHA) to organize, design and paint a 9-by-18-foot mural on a white concrete wall at the Melrose Apartments in Gainesville, Georgia.

The following local residents made the Summer 2017 Academic Achievement List at Georgia Southwestern State University and were among 400 students recognized for scholastic achievement.

Georgia Southern University recently recognized more than 2,700 students for excellence in academics on the Spring 2017 semester Dean's List. To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must have at least a 3.5 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester.

This achievement is presented to the students who embarked on a semester-long international education exchange program with Georgia State University in Fall 2016.

The Georgia State University Singers took first prize at one of the most significant chamber choir competitions in the world - the 15th International Chamber Choir Competition Marktoberdorf 2017 in Marktoberdorf, Germany.

Students enrolled in 12 or more credit hours in bachelor's degree programs who achieved a 4.0 grade point average were named to the President's Honor Roll. The following students have earned the distinction of Dean's List at the Georgia Institute of Technology for Spring 2017.

A total of 11,101 students enrolled during the 2017 spring semester at The University of Alabama were named to the Dean's List with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the President's List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's). The UA Dean's and President's lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.

The Georgia Institute of Technology presented degrees to approximately 3,800 undergraduate and graduate students during the Institute's 253rd Commencement exercises on May 5-6, 2017, at the McCamish Pavilion.

Welcome home, Bobcat! On Friday, June 9, 2017, Georgia College welcomes the newest Georgia College students and their families to campus as they attend New Student Orientation. Orientation is a day-long program packed with opportunities for new students and transfer students to connect with faculty in their intended major and become familiar with the campus as well as the array of academic and campus life programs available. Orientation grants new members of the Bobcat family to "take care of business" as they prepare for move-in.
